Remaining Relative – Subclass 835
You might be eligible for this visa if:
- your (and your partner’s) only near relatives live in Australia
- an eligible near relative or their partner will sponsor you and all members of your family unit included as applicants in your application
- you have someone who will provide an assurance of support
- you and members of your family unit meet health and character requirements.
This visa takes many years to be processed.
Aged Dependent Relative Visa – Subclass 838
This visa is for aged relatives who rely on their Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen relative, for all or most of their living costs. They must meet the Australian Aged pension requirements relating to age, be financially dependent on their sponsor, be single (having never married, or ever been in a de facto relationship) and be sponsored to Australia by their Australian relative.
Carer Visas – Subclass 836 or Subclass 116
Carer visas are for people needed by their Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen relative who have a medical condition and requires full-time care. The Australian resident must also meet the appropriate impairment rating as determined by Health Services Australia and require this level of care for a minimum of two years.
